Geography
Providence Plantations was a region of lowlands, but wherever you looked, mountains thick with trees could always be seen.. A river or two could always be found near its rolling hills. The colony's soil in turn, was not as rich as its geography; the ground was very dry and rocky, thus preventing anything more than corn, pumpkins, rye, squash and beans to be grown as crops.

Weather
Providence Plantations was apart of the New England Colonies; the coldest of the three regions. Their summers were mild and short, which led up to long, cold winters that were hard to survive. Although it meant that their planting and harvest seasons were a lot shorter than the other regions' the New England Colonies had on average, less disease than the Middle and Southern Colonies, the warmer regions.
